Robert the previous owner, is back behind the till at the Coffee Connection. Ile de pain is closed till September as is Gabriella’s and Carmen’s Corner. I have also found another eatery at Uncle Pats Oysters. The business changed hands at the end of last year, moved next door and they are now offering a limited sit down and take away menu. Cruise Cafe should also be betwixt and between owners after the announcement that Featherbed has been sold.
A question I ask myself every time I do an early drive through to George is where to do breakfast. We generally end up at Rademachers because of kids play area and it gives Joy an opportunity to look at plants. Then there is House of Flavour and The Conservatory, but where else is there? What about Sedgefield and Wilderness? I know and enjoy Bungalo at Groenvlei but there must be others. And for that matter who does offer that unforgettable breakfast. They all dish up pretty much the same thing, some are just not as good than others.

Another restaurant/cafe that has been closed for a couple of weeks is Chatters Bistro in grey street. They are set to re-open next week sometime and i cannot wait! They, in my and the majority of my friends opinion have the best pizza in Knysna. Their crispy bases are incredible & you also have the option of wheat free bases. The atmosphere is great, once you have to Chatters Bistro you will certainly be back for more.
Another one I will need to bookmark for my next trip down to Knysna and surrounds – can maybe help to find a suitable breakfast place in George
In answer to the question that was posted on the site. This is the very reason that I decided to open my own café/bistro. I found it almost impossible to find anything that sparked the imagination and titillated the taste buds. I am also passionate about cooking and creating new dishes and adapting old classics to suit our local ingredients. I don’t claim to be fancy but I do seem to be hitting the spot with my clientele. My food ranges from classic French Bistro to portuguese café. I love curries and often throw in the odd Middle Eastern favourites with my own twist.
Ryan let me have a feature with some pictures and I will post them on the site for you. You are more than welcome to make use of it and we would welcome any suggestions and feedback that you may have. And if you get really enthusiastic I can set you up with a guest writers account, if not your own blog. We would like to see this growing into a dynamic community of web sites in the hopes that more people will ask questions and help us to grow the awareness and an interest in food in the area
