Eating Out

The Breakfast Club review was not quite as successful as our Sunday Lunch but we will get there. Thanks to everyone who sent in a review. Sandy Kent won our first competition with her review of the Dry Dock and she let us have this review. Many thanks.

I took my husband out to dinner tonight! We chose Emily Moon on the Bitou River. It’s heavy
on ambience – Lost City cum Out of Africa. All rather contrived, of course, but alluring
nontheless – particularly in candlelight. We timed our arrival for sunset and had a table on the
deck, looking out over the wetland. I hadn’t realised just how winding the Bitou is.

The menu is very small. They offer three courses with about six choices of each. Neither of
us wanted a starter, don’t have the capacity we used to have! For mains, John had fillet steak
and I had prawns. My prawns were good but John’s steak (served with a Bernaise sauce)
was superb – it really did almost melt in the mouth. For pud we ordered creme brulee and
pannecotta. Both were attractively served and delicious. In fact, the creme brulee was so
delicious, I decided it’s time I learned how to make it.
